It’s fourteen games until the end of the season and Chelsea is on the top of the table with eight points advantage over their biggest challenger Manchester City. However, this weekend the Blues are taking the rest from the Premier league duties for a while, switching their focus to the other trophy they want to win this season – the FA cup.
They travel to West Midlands this Saturday (17:30 kick off) to meet Wolverhampton Wanderers. Championship side is 18th in the second tier of English football pyramid, capturing 35 points from 31 matches this season. They lost on last three occasions – to Burton away and Newcastle and Wigan at home – but showed their quality at Anfield last month by knocking out Liverpool from the fourth round.
The last time two teams met was back in 2012 in EFL Cup, when Chelsea cruised to easy 6-0 victory. Back then Wolves were still in the Premier league, so the last visit to Molineux dates to January 2012, when Lampard scored a winner in the last minute (2-1).
