The boys are back in town

The holidays are over, the boys are back in town. Asmir Begović and his AFC Bournemouth teammates gathered in Bournemouth to start the preparation for the upcoming season.

With AFC Bournemouth’s pre-season fixture list now confirmed, here is a list of the schedule ahead of the big Premier League kick-off.

That league start begins on August 11th with the visit of Cardiff City to Vitality Stadium, but before that the Cherries have six other teams to lock horns with.

The half-dozen friendlies start during the club’s training camp in Spain:

  • The Cherries begin their pre-season against La Liga side Sevilla at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia -Saturday 14th July, 7pm
  • Before heading back to Dorset, Eddie Howe’s men will return to the Pinatar Arena to take on Levante of the Spanish top flight – Friday 20th July, 7pm
  • The home-soil fixtures start with a trip to play Bristol City at Ashton Gate – Friday 27th July, 7pm
  • Less than 24 hours later AFC Bournemouth play again, this time against Championship side Nottingham Forest at the City Ground – Saturday 28th July, 3pm
  • The Cherries complete their hat-trick of games against La Liga opponents as they welcome Real Betis to Vitality Stadium for their first home friendly – Friday 3rd August, 7pm
  • The next day – and just a week before the Premier League curtain raises – French giants Marseille will be in action at Vitality Stadium – Saturday 4th August, 3pm
