After three Premier league wins in a row, Stoke City capitulated to West Bromwich Albion (0-1) on Saturday. Asmir Begović was beaten by Brown Ideye’s 20th minute header as the Baggies recorded not just their first home win over Stoke since May 2004, but scored their first goal in last 6 encounters that Begović was between sticks.
General impression was that this performance by the Potters was one of the worst this season.
The Bosnian international said: “It was a poor game, but we didn’t play well at all. We know how difficult it is to be successful in any match in the Premier League and we didn’t produce that standard. We’ve been playing really well of late and felt confident coming into the game, so we’re obviously disappointed to lose. Every game has its deciding moments, and they didn’t go our way today. You can’t feel sorry for yourselves though – you have to put in the performances and we didn’t do that”.
“We had a good following behind us today and we’re disappointed for them too. They didn’t have much to shout about”.
Next Saturday Stoke welcomes Crystal Palace to Britannia Stadium.
