asmir-red-bosnian-shirtIt´s been too long. The national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered for the first time since March, when they defeated Andorra (3-0) in the qualifiers and drew 1-1 with Austria in a friendly.

This time the job will be much more difficult. Bosnia and Herzegovina will host Israel in the one of the crucial matches in EURO 2016 qualifiers. What more, poor start of the campaign and loss to Israel in Ramat Gan back in November turned not just this match but every other until the end of the qualifiers in to decisive.

“We need to win. It is simple as that”, says Asmir, who joined the team after another successful season with Stoke City. “Israel have been much better than us in that first match, but I reckon it was our terrible performance that steered the match in to that direction. We all remember that heavy loss, the worst since 6-2 in Lisbon, and we want to show that it was just a bad day for us”.

“We do not underestimate the opponent; we are well aware of how good they are. However, I believe we are better team and that with a right approach we can win this. As I said, we must do it”.

For Bosnian number one this will be 41st cap.
