Bosnia and Herzegovina national team manager Mehmed Baždarević gathered his team in Sarajevo and officially launched the World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign. Bosnia will host Estonia in Zenica on 6 September in their first match of the qualifiers.
“It’s good to be back with the boys”, said Asmir Begović after the first training session in FK Sarajevo training camp on Monday. “Of course that we are disappointed that we have missed the Euros, but this is another reason to be motivated for this coming campaign”.
“We have to be aware that it will not be an easy job. We’ve seen how good Cyprus can be, we know that Belgium is one of the best teams in the world, we are aware that Greece can’t repeat such a terrible campaign as the last one. However, at this moment we are fully focused on Estonia and what this game brings”.
“I’ve seen them against England and this is well organised and disciplined team that can make troubles to any opposition. We’ve learned the hard way that there are no weak teams in international football anymore. But, we are clear favourites and everything is up to us; we need to show a proper approach, to take the control. We are working well here and I am sure we’ll be prepared the best possible way for this match”.
